I was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA and I am of Puerto Rican descent. I received a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing at Temple University in 2008 and later on received my Master’s degree in Nursing certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner from La Salle University in 2018. I received my Psychiatric Mental Health Post Master’s degree from LaSalle University in 2024.
I began my career as a Nurse Practitioner in 2018 working in an inner city dual diagnosis PHP/IOP program that provided substance use disorders treatment as well as psychiatric outpatient treatment. It was there that I took an interest in both substance use disorder treatment and mental health treatment. Growing up in the inner city of North Philadelphia, I witnessed how drugs, alcohol, and mental health treatment disparities caused the destruction within the community and the impact it had on both the individual afflicted and the families involved. I am passionate about providing culturally competent services in minority populations in order to help combat mental health stigma. I strive to provide compassionate evidence based care to individuals struggling with mental health disorders. I specialize in mood disorders, anxiety disorders, PTSD, substance use disorders, ADHD and eating disorders.
